Went on a Wednesday lunchtime for a nice lunch and a ride on the bike. Loads of choice but I was hungry so went for the prawn sarnie deal and added four oysters. At a quid each, it's not extravagant, delivered on a platter with a lemon wedge and red wine vinegar and onion dressing in a pot. Tasty and fresh (as you'd expect), left happy and full. It's a great place for a peaceful walk and to look at a boat or thousands.

My wife and I are relatively well travelled people, and our standards are high, but the prawns and mussels from this restaurant were honestly some of the best we've had. Really delicious, fresh, local seafood and the staff are really friendly. Will be coming back here for sure when we next visit Mersea Island.

I was feeling a bit peckish but wasn’t sure what to order so I asked the very nice young lady at the till named Grace who kindly suggested to buy the wedges as they are a dukes seafood delicacy. I could not of asked for better customer service. She was very polite and helpful, I would 100% recommend the dukes seafood to anyone not only because of the food. Luxury seafood with amazing service. Your sincerely G1

We had some locally sourced oysters and they were delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The lovely lady who served us had a wealth of local knowledge and was very informative.

Most delicious seafood we had in the whole of UK. Fish bites were crispy and yummy. Baked oysters were fresh and full of flavour. Dover sole was cooked to perfection with garlic butter and capers. I would go back soo again and order even more.

Beautiful, fresh food and happy, friendly service. We went for the seafood masterclass with chef Tony and Katie. We had a lovely time together, we skinned& pocketed plaice, which we cooked en papillote with aromatics. The plaice had been caught from their fishing boat. We shucked oysters, which we presented three different ways, prepared and cooked squid then prepared and cooked muscles, which were just delicious. The evening flowed flawlessly, Katie and Tony were so knowledgeable and encouraging. All in a kitchen with the best view in the world! The sun slowly setting across the water, absolutely stunning. Possibly one of my highlights was the huge tub of roasted garlic butter with parsley that Tony had prepared, which made me question how I'd got this old without it in my life.... I can only highly recommend Dukes for teaching us so much. All we created was fresh and tasty. Everything you needed, including the apron, was ready waiting for us. They had thought of it all. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The seafood is amazing! We looked at reviews and locations of several places on the island and this one looked good. The people serving were super friendly and helpful. They served local beer, a real plus. They have lots of other options too. It's not inexpensive, but this is a case of you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend it, even on a cooler windy day like the one we had. The seating is all outdoors on picnic tables with a few tables under a shelter.
